Raïs is a payment platform for Algeria. Businesses use it to accept CIB and Edahabia card payments through payment links, a hosted checkout and an API. Payments are in Algerian dinars and go through SATIM.

Business accounts are for companies and professionals who sell goods or services. They accept payments, create payment links and use the API. Personal accounts are for individuals: they hold a balance, and sending and requesting money is coming soon.

A business account starts in the sandbox. For live payments, submit your company details and documents in the dashboard: commercial register, tax identifiers (NIF and NIS), the owners' identity documents, and an agrément if your activity requires one, then sign the merchant agreement online. Our team reviews your application, and live payments are enabled once you are approved. We do not promise a review time.

Yes. Create payment links in the dashboard and send them by message or email. Use the API when you want to automate.

CIB and Edahabia cards, through SATIM. Payments are in Algerian dinars.

A secure checkout page with your store name and logo, in English, French or Arabic. They enter their card details and confirm with a one-time code from their bank. Then they return to your site (the success or cancel URL you set) or to a Raïs confirmation page.

When SATIM confirms a live payment, the amount is credited to your Raïs account, in dinars, and the fees of the payment are taken from your balance. Your balance and every movement are in the dashboard. Once your business is verified, you can ask to withdraw your balance to a bank or postal account from the dashboard. Withdrawals cost nothing.

Yes, in full or in part, from the dashboard or the API. The refund returns to the customer's card through SATIM and is taken from your Raïs balance together with its fee of 10 DA, so the balance must cover both. The fees of the original payment are not returned.

Yes. A business account starts in the sandbox with test API keys. Sandbox payments use SATIM's test cards, listed in the documentation, and never move real money.

A payment created through the API is payable for 24 hours by default. Set expires_in to anything from 5 minutes to 30 days. After that it expires and its checkout page can no longer be used.

A payment costs 0.3% of its amount for Raïs plus 0.7% for SATIM, with SATIM's part never less than 10 DA and never more than 300 DA. A refund costs 10 DA. There is no setup fee, no monthly fee and no other fee, and all prices exclude VAT. See the pricing page for examples and a calculator.

No. Every price we publish excludes VAT (value-added tax). In French documents this is written HT, for hors taxes.

When a payment is paid, its amount is credited to your Raïs balance and its fees are taken from that balance, as a separate line in your ledger. The fee of a refund is taken when the refund goes through.

Nothing is charged. Fees are taken only for a payment that is paid: a payment that fails, is declined, expires or is cancelled costs nothing, and neither does a refund that does not go through.

No. The fees of a payment are not returned when it is refunded, in full or in part. The refund has its own fee of 10 DA, made of 8 DA for SATIM and 2 DA for Raïs, whatever its amount.

No. Test mode charges nothing and moves no money. It shows the fees each test payment would have cost, marked as simulated, so you can see the cost before going live.

50 DA. Because SATIM's minimum fee is 10 DA, the smallest payments cost the most in proportion: at 50 DA the fees are 10.15 DA.

From your server, create a payment with POST /v1/payments and your secret key, send the customer to the checkout_url in the answer, and wait for the payment.succeeded webhook (or read the payment) before you deliver the order. The documentation has the details.

In the dashboard. A secret key is shown once, when you create it, and only a hash is stored, so keep it on your server. Sandbox keys start with rais_sk_test_ and live keys with rais_sk_live_.

Yes. Every delivery carries a Rais-Signature header with a timestamp and an HMAC-SHA256 signature of the body, made with your endpoint's signing secret. Verify it and reject old timestamps. If your server does not answer with a 2xx status, Raïs tries up to 8 times over about 21 hours.

Card details are entered on the payment page and sent to SATIM's gateway for authorisation. They never pass through your own servers, and your dashboard and receipts show only a masked card number.

The payer's bank. The payer confirms each payment with a one-time code from their bank, and the card issuer checks it.

Passwords are stored as hashes, and you can turn on two-factor sign-in with an authenticator app. API keys belong to one store and one environment, so a test key can never touch live payments.
