Raïs ("we", "us", "our") is committed to protecting your personal information. This Privacy Policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have regarding your information when you use the Raïs online payment gateway.

Raïs provides payment services to merchants and users. In some cases, such as merchant balances and payments between users, we hold funds on their behalf, as described in our Terms of Service. Card transactions are authorised and settled by SATIM and the licensed institutions of the Algerian banking system.

We collect information in the following ways:

• Account information: Name, email address, phone number, and password (stored as a cryptographic hash) of the person managing the merchant account.
• Transaction data: Payment amounts, dates, order references, transaction outcomes, masked card references and invoice details necessary to process and record merchant collections.
• Merchant information: Trade name, legal identifiers such as the commercial register and tax identification number, website or application, settlement bank details, terminal identifiers, and webhook configuration you provide.
• Usage data: Log data including IP addresses, browser type, pages visited, and timestamps, collected automatically when you use our platform.
• Communications: Emails or messages you send to our support team.

We do not store full card numbers. All card payment processing occurs within the certified Algerian banking network (SATIM).

We use your information to:

• Create, verify and manage your merchant account
• Transmit payment requests to the banking network and record their outcome
• Send transactional emails (verification, password reset, payment notifications)
• Provide reporting, reconciliation and customer support
• Detect and prevent fraud and abuse
• Comply with legal and regulatory obligations
• Improve and develop the platform

We do not sell your personal information. We may share your information with:

• Banking partners: The Algerian interbank network and the acquiring bank, to authorise, settle and reconcile card transactions.
• Service providers: Third-party tools we use to operate the platform (e.g., email delivery) under strict confidentiality agreements.
• Legal authorities: When required by Algerian law, court order, or to protect the rights and safety of our users or the public.

We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your personal data, including encryption in transit (TLS) and at rest, access controls, and regular security reviews. However, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

We retain your personal data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide services. Transaction data may be retained for up to 10 years to comply with Algerian financial record-keeping regulations. You may request deletion of your account data by contacting us directly.

We use strictly necessary cookies for session management and authentication. We do not use third-party advertising or tracking cookies.

You have the right to:

• Access the personal information we hold about you
• Correct inaccurate or incomplete data
• Request deletion of your account and personal data, subject to legal obligations
• Object to certain processing activities

Raïs is not directed at children under 18, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If we become aware that we have collected data from a minor, we will delete it promptly.
